Resolutions Northwest (RNW) is a nonprofit organization providing mediation and education that helps Oregon's kids, families, and communities resolve conflict.
Since 1985, Resolutions Northwest has helped thousands of individuals and groups peacefully resolve complex personal, family, and community disputes. Today, RNW is the largest nonprofit mediation center in the state of Oregon with over 100 professionally trained volunteer mediators.
Our services include family, neighborhood, workplace, victim offender mediation, conflict resolution for businesses or organizations, and professional training classes.
What is Mediation? Mediation helps people in conflict find a solution acceptable to all by providing highly trained neutral facilitators to help them have a conversation about their concerns. Mediation provides a setting where individuals can solve their own problems and where communities can work through difficult issues without divisiveness (see 10 Tips on Resolving Conflicts). Mediation can resolve conflicts before they become entrenched and escalate into larger conflicts.
Does It Work? Mediation has been shown to be 10 times less expensive and 4 times better in reducing future crime than the judicial system. But for the best evidence, talk to one of our clients: 97% of all clients recommend mediation to others.
