Basic Mediation Training: Become an RNW Volunteer

Through this full immersion, 38-hour training you will learn and practice all dimensions of mediation work. The training revolves around energizing opportunities to hear, observe and apply advanced conflict resolution tools. Topics include mediation stages, conflict theory, mediator listening, facilitating negotiations, cross-cultural conflict management and more! The volunteer program is designed for people who are interested in making a time commitment to develop their mediation skills and contribute to the community.

Cost

This training is free in conjunction with a one-year, 120-hour commitment to volunteer with Resolutions Northwest as a case developer and mediator, during which you will receive additional mentoring from our staff.

Trainer: Chris Sheesley, MA

Chris is a professional mediator and conflict management trainer specializing in dispute resolution for organizations. For a decade and a half, he has provided thousands of hours of instruction to trainees in conflict management. He uses an experiential-learning approach to fully engage participants. With Chris, participants often laugh along as they sharpen their conflict coping skills.
