What is empathy?
How do you become more empathetic in the way you communicate at home, or at work?
In this workshop, you will deepen your understanding of empathy: what it is, how it works and how it is nurtured. With the use of research based material, authentic stories, original music and group activities, you will gain new insight on this topic and learn techniques to become a more empathetic individual.
Participants will:
• Deepen their understanding of empathy
• Develop an awareness about personal triggers and biases
• Learn the empathy framework and techniques to become more empathetic
Dates and location
Training date: May 10, 9am-12pm
Location: Resolutions Northwest (1827 NE 44th Avenue, Suite 300, Portland, Oregon 97213). We have free parking for cars and bikes, and we're close to transit.

Trainers
Parfait Bassale Ma., is an educator, researcher and artist who specializes in the instruction of empathy in classrooms and organizations. Graduate of Portland state University, in conflict resolution, he recently published the Story and Song Centered Pedagogy, a framework that uses music, storytelling and reflective inquiry to teach empathy.
