Beyond Conflict Management

Beyond Conflict Management:

Change how you think when the going gets tough.

What do you do when your buttons get pushed and all those wonderful conflict management skills seem to fly out the window? Changing the way you think about conflict, your mindset, requires having skills, models and ways of reflecting and practicing that go beyond what you learn in most communication or conflict management classes.

This workshop, based on the Mutual Learning Model, is the next step in your search for mastery in the art of non-defensive communication. At the end of this workshop you will:

  • Be able to identify the ways in which you react ineffectively under stress;

  • Learn and be able to enact more helpful behaviors;

  • Understand how your thoughts about conflict create your reactions to it; and

  • Understand and be able to react from a more non-defensive mindset.

You will be required to complete a piece of homework that will be the basis of your real-world practice in learning these skills. This workshop is more intensive in its practice sessions than most, and in return you will have the opportunity of growing in depth professionally and in your personal relationships.

Class schedule:

  • Monday, September 27, 6:30 – 8:30 pm (required pre-meeting to assign and explain homework)

  • Friday, October 15, 1:00 – 5:00 pm

  • Saturday, October 16, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

  • Saturday, October 23, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
