Continuing Education Advanced training for volunteer mediators offered periodically throughout the year.
Community Mediation Education
RNW, in collaboration with the Collaborative Mediation Group*, offers three Community Mediation Education (CME) events per year for our volunteers to continue building skills and competencies in mediation. These trainings usually take place in the evenings in February, May and September.
Workplace Mediation Special Interest Group
Sponsored by Oregon Mediation Association (OMA) and American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Resolutions Northwest hosts monthly meetings for this special interest group (SIG) at our office. The OMA/ASTD Mediation SIG is a support group for professional mediators that meets to discuss workplace mediation. Anyone is welcome to attend. The content and process of the meetings are driven by the needs of professionally trained mediators, and these meetings are not a substitute for mediation training. For questions about the SIG or directions to the program, contact Elizabeth Livingston at 503-661-3144 or go to http://www.astdcascadia.org/programs/SIGs/mediation.html or http://www.mediate.com/oma/.
Facilitation Training
RNW provides periodical trainings in facilitation skills for our volunteer mediators, who can then volunteer to facilitate a range of meetings and processes. Restorative Justice Orientation Towards the end of our volunteer program service of one year, our volunteer mediators have the opportunity to participate in a Restorative Justice Orientation and volunteer as Restorative Meeting Facilitators. * The Collaborative Mediation Group: Center, Clackamas Community Mediation Services, East Metro Mediation, Mediation Association, Resolutions Northwest,
