Basic Mediation Training
This training is offered once a year in mid-January. Look for the announcement here where the details and application forms will be posted in early November 2008. Through this full immersion, 36-hour training you will learn and practice all dimensions of mediation work. The program revolves around energizing opportunities to hear, observe and apply advanced conflict resolution tools. Topics include: mediation stages, conflict theory, mediator listening, facilitating negotiations, cross-cultural conflict management and more! This training is primarily designed for people who are interested in making a time commitment to develop their mediation skills and to contribute to the community through our volunteer program. This training is free in conjunction with a one-year, 100-hour commitment to volunteer with Resolutions Northwest as a case developer and mediator in our Neighborhood Program, during which you will receive additional mentoring from our staff. Click "Basic Training - Volunteer" above for more information. If you are interested only in the training, the cost is $800, and is designed for people who are committed to solving conflict throughout their workplaces, organizations and community. Click "Basic Training - Non-Volunteer" above for more information.
